Highland Park Kicks Off Holiday Season

Visit Downtown Highland Park on Saturday, November 18 from 3-5 PM for family-friendly activities, shopping, dining and the annual tree lighting ceremony

Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season at Port Clinton Square in Downtown Highland Park on Saturday, November 18 from 3-5 PM. Shop, dine, and enjoy free family-friendly activities offered throughout Downtown Highland Park including a Scavenger Hunt with prizes, the opportunity to visit with Santa, horse drawn sleigh rides, face painting and more. Participating businesses will provide refreshments, activities, and treats. The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at Port Clinton Square will begin at 4:30 PM. Join Mayor Nancy Rotering and other city officials as over 200 trees will be magically lit for the 2017 holiday season.

Live entertainment will begin at 3PM in Port Clinton Square. Featured performers include the Elm Place Middle School Chorus, the Irina Makkai Classical Ballet and Dance School, #remixed from the Performer’s School and Soul2Sole Performance Company, and Lake Forest Country Day School.

Free parking will be available throughout the Central Business District with extended parking hours in public parking lots on November 18, as part of the Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
