Dec. 31: HP Awards Nominations Due

December 15, 2023 -- The City of Highland Park Awards honor the outstanding achievements of community members and organizations. Nominations are now open for the Arts Award, the Environmental Award, the Humanitarian Award, and the Character Counts Pillar Awards.

  • The Arts Award recognizes outstanding achievements or contributions to the arts in Highland Park. Individuals may nominate a deserving person or organization for the Award. The Arts Award is not limited to any one artistic discipline. Previous winners have included individuals and organizations representing arts education, visual arts, literary arts, performing arts, architecture, and digital media/graphic design.
  • The Environmental Award recognizes outstanding achievements or contributions to enhancing environmental sustainability in Highland Park. Individuals may nominate a deserving person or organization for the Award. The Environmental Award is not limited to any one field, and individuals or organizations may be nominated for volunteer or professional work. 
  • The Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual resident who has rendered outstanding service to the Highland Park community, beyond the scope of his/her paid work environment. Any Highland Park resident who has a record of significant and sustained service and has, through their efforts, made a substantial contribution to changing lives in the Highland Park community may be nominated. 
  • The Character Counts Steering Committee selects and presents the "Character Counts Pillar Awards”. The Committee is now seeking nominations for individuals who continuously exhibit good character. Nominees often include students, community and athletic volunteers, neighbors, etc.

Nominators should carefully review the award descriptions and nomination requirements before submitting a nomination. Nominations for the 2024 Highland Park Awards may be submitted at cityhpil.com/awards through December 31, 2023.
