Oct. 28: Photography & Poetry Workshop

September 6, 2023 -- Join the City's first Poet Laureate, Laura Joyce-Hubbard, for the first in a workshop series on the grounds of the beautiful Heller Nature Center. We will briefly stroll the trails for inspiration, capture photos on our phones or cameras, then return to the Prairie Room to read and write poems. We’ll learn how to incorporate our natural world into poetic lines and how to use photography as a muse.

The program will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 28 at Heller Nature Center (2821 Ridge Rd.) The program is free but registration is required. Click to register:  https://www.pdhp.org/event/photography-and-poetry-with-laura-joyce-hubbard/   Limit 25.  First come, first served. 

No experience in poetry or photography necessary. If you have a printed photo of a natural setting that you would like to work with, feel free to bring photographic prints with you. If not, we’ll glean ideas from the grounds of Heller. Rain or shine, join us to write new lines.

Bring: pencils, small notebook, raincoat, something to take photos with (phone or camera), photographic print (optional).
