2023 Memorial Day Observance

May 16, 2023 -- Please join Mayor Rotering and City Council on Monday, May 29, at 11:00 AM at Highland Park High School Auditorium (433 Vine Ave.) for the City's annual Memorial Day observance. The ceremony will feature local veterans groups and a tribute to veterans who have passed away. The City's first Poet Laureate, Laura Joyce-Hubbard, will offer a reading of her poem, "Escort Officer Duty," a reflection on her experience as an Air Force pilot charged with the honor and responsibility of escorting fallen servicemembers home from war. The Highland Park High School band will perform.

Individuals driving to the event should park at the High School's H entrance (off of St. Johns.) Individuals may be dropped off at the auditorium entrance on St. Johns, just south of Vine and across the street from Maple.

In observance of Memorial Day, City administrative services will be closed on Monday, May 29. Residents may call the public safety non-emergency line at 847.432.7730 if non-emergency assistance is required.
