Solicitors must have a permit issued by the City of Highland Park Police Department. The permit does not imply endorsement or approval by the City of the goods and/or services the solicitors represent.
All solicitors must wear a name tag issued by the Police Department at all times, which identifies the name and organization of the solicitor. It is unlawful for a solicitor to go upon any premise prior to 9:00 AM or after 9:00 PM.
Residents may opt to place a "No Soliciting" sign on their property if they would like to discourage solicitations. As with unsolicited phone calls from telemarketers, residents should be wary of unsolicited visitors and should never give out financial or personal information to unknown individuals.If you wish to prohibit solicitors from entering your premises, please cut out and place the No Solicitors card below upon or near the main entrance door to your home to prohibit soliciting in accordance with Sec. 127.020 of City Code.
