Mulberry Place Construction

Construction to repair concrete walls and caps on the bridge that carries the McClory Path over Mulberry Place is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 10, 2017. Mulberry Place from Glencoe Avenue to St. Johns Avenue will be closed to the public from July 10 to August 11. A signed detour that uses Oakwood Avenue, Green Bay Road, Lincoln Avenue West and St. Johns Avenue will direct traffic around the road closure. The bike path will remain open but may be partially restricted when repairs are made to the pedestrian bridge railing. The City will work with the contractor to minimize these inconveniences.

Other improvements include new curb and sidewalk along the north side of Mulberry Place. Mulberry Place will also be repaired to provide a new asphalt surface. Restoration of the disturbed parkway areas will be done with top soil and native grass seeding.

On June 12, 2017, the City Council approved the award of a contract for the McClory Pedestrian Bridge over Mulberry Place to Alliance Contractors Inc. of Woodstock, Illinois.
