Highland Park Community Awards

Nominations are due March 9, 2020 at noon for the Arts Award, Environmental Award, 

Humanitarian Award, and Robert Barnard Character Counts Award 


February 10, 2020 -- The City is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Highland Park Community Awards. Award categories include the Arts Award, Environmental Award, Humanitarian Award, and the Robert Barnard Character Counts Awards. All awards recognize outstanding achievements in, or contributions to, the community in their respective category.

 

The Robert Barnard Character Counts Award is presented by the City of Highland Park, North Shore School District 112, Township High School District 113, Park District of Highland Park, and the Character Counts Steering Committee, and recognizes and honors students, residents, and members of the business community for consistently demonstrating the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

 

The Arts Award, presented by the Cultural Arts Advisory Group, recognizes outstanding achievements in any art form, including visual arts such as drawing, painting, or sculpture; performance such as dance, theater, or music; architecture; literature; and web production and graphic design.

 

The Environmental Award, presented by the Sustainability Advisory Group, recognizes individuals and businesses who have made substantial contributions to improve the environment and sustainability of the community in Highland Park.

 

The Humanitarian Award, presented by the Human Relations Advisory Group, recognizes an individual resident who has rendered outstandingand sustained service to the Highland Park community through education, charitable work, philanthropy, environmental advocacy, public policy, or serving senior citizens, youth, the disabled, and underprivilegedunderserved populations.

Nominations for all awards are due March 9, 2020 at noon, The Highland Park Community Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 PM, in the Highland Park High School Auditorium; each award recipient, their family and friends, and the community at large are invited to attend.
