In partnership with LRS, the City has rescheduled Clean-up Days for August 2020. The new schedule is as follows:
- If your collection is Monday, your Clean-Up Day is Saturday, August 8
- If your collection is Tuesday, your Clean-Up Day is Saturday, August 15
- If your collection is Thursday, your Clean-Up Day is Saturday, August 22
- If your collection is Friday, your Clean-Up Day is Saturday, August 29

LRS has announced the following service updates:
- Bulk item pickup resumes Tuesday, May 26
- Curbside electronics and white goods pick up resumes Monday, June 1

UPDATE March 24, 2020:
In order to protect the health and well being of refuse and recycling workers in light of the ongoing pandemic, spring cleanup has been canceled for 2020.
Additionally, effective immediately, Lakeshore Recycling Systems will suspend collection of bulk items, white goods & e-waste. There will be no collection of loose material, bulk items (mattresses, furniture, etc.), appliances, electronic waste or other large items at the curb. All refuse and recyclables must be placed into a refuse or recycling container to be collected. As a reminder, please do not place plastic bags into recycling containers.
Refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will continue as regularly scheduled.

The 2020 Annual Spring Clean-Up has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
-If your collection is Monday, your Spring Clean-Up Day is Saturday, April 25 - CANCELED
-If your collection is Tuesday, your Spring Clean-Up Day is Saturday, May 2 - CANCELED
-If your collection is Thursday, your Spring Clean-Up Day is Saturday, May 9 - CANCELED
-If your collection is Friday, your Spring Clean-Up Day is Saturday, May 16 - CANCELED
LRS will not be taking the following items:
-More than 1 cubic yard of Construction material
-White Goods (refrigerators, stoves, etc.)
-Electronic waste
-Yard waste
White goods and appliances (washers and dryers, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, stoves, AC units, hot water heaters, freezers, etc.) are not accepted. If you have an appliance or white good that needs removal, please contact a LRS Service Representative at 773.685.8811 or info@lrsrecycles.com to schedule service. A charge of $40.00 per item will be charged.
Spring clean-up is also offered year-round through Lakeshore Recycling Systems’ (LRS) bulk item pickup service. LRS will take one ‘Bulk’ item that can be safely removed, per week at no charge (tables, chairs, mattresses etc.). If more than one bulk item is left out for pickup you will need to call LRS to receive a quote for removal. Get the word out to neighbors - you don't need to wait for spring to get rid of unwanted items! The same spring cleanup restrictions apply (no white goods, no electronics, construction debris, items must be under 50lbs). Please call ahead to notify LRS of the bulk item at 773.685.8811.
LRS will collect one large electronic under 50lbs waste item (televisions, monitors, computers, speakers, etc.) or three small electronic waste items (phones, mice, radios, adding machines, etc.) on the first customer collection day of each month.
