September 3 - 4, 2018: Flooding Event

Updated at 6:45AM on 9/4/2018: Waters have been receding overnight. Most streets have been reopened. Tanglewood Court remains closed due to road flooding. To report a Public Works concern, please call the City’s non-emergency line at 847.432.7730. For emergencies, please dial 911.

Updated at 4:02PM, 9/3/2018: Flooding is receding slowly. The US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory this morning and the forecast calls for storms with heavy rain to continue this morning throughout Lake County. Vehicles can be moved to higher ground on area public streets. Park Avenue West one lane open (immediately east of Rt. 41). Red Oak Lane (immediately north of Lake Cook Rd), Briargate Drive, Trail Way (north of North Ave closed - Half Day Rd to North Ave open), Taylor Avenue, Tanglewood Court are closed due to road flooding. The Skokie River is elevated as a result of continuous heavy rains throughout weekend. Sand bags are available at 1180 Half Day Road.
