No, the full scope of this project has not been finalized and although the City has conducted preliminary engineering, final engineering has not yet taken place and the project is not out to bid. The City is currently in the public engagement phase, inviting public feedback about the project and exploring various options particularly as it relates to the proposed bike lanes. A second Public Information meeting took place on March 2, 2023; the meeting was held in-person and virtually. Approximately 129 individuals attended in-person and approximately 99 individuals attended virtually. The City received a great deal of public feedback. This feedback will be shared and documented, and thereafter, staff will present a report/recommendation to the City Council. The City is tentatively planning to bring the project to the Committee of the Whole meeting on April 10 for policy discussion among the City Council. The Committee of the Whole meeting will be livestreamed on the City's Facebook page (facebook.com/HighlandParkIL). Individuals who are interested in attending in person are requested to register by emailing cityhp@cityhpil.com so the City can plan for capacity needs. Information related to this project will continue to be updated throughout the planning process at cityhpil.com/greenbayroad. Reconstruction of Green Bay Road is scheduled to take place starting in either 2024 or 2025. The construction project is estimated to take two years.
