Property Taxes
The City’s total 2018 tax levy for collection in 2019 is $13.6 million. The levy rate has fallen from 1.045 for the 1993 levy to .566 for the current year – a decrease in the tax rate of approximately 54%. The City of Highland Park has made a significant effort to minimize growth in property taxes.

Properties in North Shore School District 112  
Many residents do not realize that the City receives only approximately 7% of the total property taxes assessed on Highland Park property owners. The majority of the property taxes (66%) are remitted to the elementary and high school districts. A breakdown of the 2018 property tax levy, collected during calendar year 2019, follows:

West Deerfield Township Assessor
The West Deerfield Township Assessor is responsible for assessing the value of select properties in Highland Park. The City of Highland Park has no jurisdiction in this regard.
