The structural work consists of repairing concrete abutment walls and abutment caps to remove deteriorated/crumbling concrete and replacement with new concrete. Plans include 40 cubic yards of Concrete Structures (as defined in Section 503 of the IDOT Standard Specifications), 4030 pounds of epoxy coated reinforcement bars, and repair of the existing metal bridge railing as noted in the plans and specifications. Tree removal is included to remove existing trees that are located adjacent to the abutment concrete caps. Roadway work on Mulberry Place from Glencoe Avenue to St. Johns Avenue includes the milling and resurfacing of 700 square yards of pavement, 60 feet of curb and gutter removal and replacement, and 300 square feet of sidewalk removal and replacement. Mulberry Place from will be closed to through traffic. The plans and specifications call for a posted detour for this roadway closure.
