Ravine 3 (Southwest Branch) Channel Restoration

INVITATION FOR BIDS

The City of Highland Park will receive sealed bids for the:

 Ravine 3 (Southwest Branch)
Channel Restoration

until 11:00 a.m., August 9, 2018

 The work included in this Contract includes removal of the twelve (12) distressed wooden ditch checks located within the ravine channel along with the demolition of cracked concrete pads and failed gabion mats.  There are twelve (12) proposed outfall plunge pools and riffles that will replace the wooded ditch checks. Four (4) stone filled gabion baskets are proposed to address eroded banks along the bends of the ravine toe.  The work shall consist of furnishing all the materials, labor, equipment and incidentals required to complete channel excavation as well as cut, fill, and grading required to construct the proposed pools and riffles as detailed in the plans. Ravine site access and soil erosion and sedimentation control shall be in accordance with the permitted construction plans. Site restoration and all other incidental work necessary to complete this improvement shall be executed and maintained until it is approved by the Engineer or his authorized agent.

 Ravine 3 is located south of Roger Williams Avenue and east of Sheridan Road.  St. Johns Avenue is west and south of Ravine 3.  The project length measured along the ravine channel is approximately 2,500 feet.

 Bids will ONLY be received and accepted via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. Bidders must be on the plan holders list through QuestCDN for bids to be accepted. To access the electronic bid form, download the project documents and click the online bidding button. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. NO paper bids will be accepted.

 Bid security is required as stated in the “Bid Security”section found on page 2 in the Instructions portion of the Bid Package.  Each prospective Bidder shall furnish a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility as issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation.  The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract.  All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).  Contractors must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports.
