The Highland Park
Police Department is one of a few select law enforcement agencies
statewide, nationally, and internationally that has achieved accredited
status. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies
(CALEA) conducted an in depth assessment of our department and
found that we meet or exceed over 400 required standards governing
all aspects of a law enforcement agency’s responsibilities.
Accreditation is awarded for a period of 3 years, at the end of
which time CALEA will conduct a new assessment for re-accreditation.
