Bitter Jester Battle of the Bands
Friday Nights in June & July 4
Now in its 12th year, the Bitter Jester Battle of the Bands holds its Grand Finale concert at Wolters Field leading up to the fireworks! Semi-Finalist bands are selected by celebrity judges during preliminary battles every Friday night in June at 7:30 PM at Port Clinton Square. Six semi-finalists then compete against each other on the 4th of July for over $20,000 in combined cash and other prizes and the chance to be named the 2017 Grand Champion! Food, drink and dessert vendors will be on hand all night long.

Taste of Highland Park & Port Clinton Art Festival

Scrumptious delights from the City’s finest eateries highlight the 2017 Taste of Highland Park. Visitors can satisfy savory and sweet cravings with everything from sushi to tacos to ice cream. Visit booths beginning Friday, August TBD at 5:00 PM Enjoy entertainment all weekend at the Taste Stage.
Recognized as one of the most successful juried art festivals in the country, the Port Clinton Art Festival attracts more than 250,000 art enthusiasts annually and features art from more than 260 of the world’s most celebrated artists. The festival also hosts a Youth Art Division, offering kids 18 and under the opportunity to participate in one of the finest art festivals in the country. Throughout the weekend, families can enjoy kid-friendly art activities, including an art scavenger hunt, spin art, interactive demos, performance speed painting and more.
Parking and admission for the Port Clinton Art Festival and Taste of Highland Park are free. Port Clinton Square is located in downtown Highland Park, 600 Central Avenue. Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Winter festivities begin in downtown Highland Park with the Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 18, 2017. The day’s events will feature musical performances with a special appearance by Santa.
Enjoy a family-friendly scavenger hunt through downtown Highland Park with prizes at the end. In addition, don’t miss free, live performances of The Nutcracker in the store window of Uncle Dan’s at the corner of Central Avenue and Second Street. The afternoon events will conclude with Mayor Rotering flipping the switch to turn on the holiday lights in Port Clinton Square.
