The Highland Park Public Library and SCORE Chicago Work Together for Small Business
Highland Park businesses have the opportunity to take advantage of significant professional support services, thanks to Alyssa Knobel, City of Highland Park Councilman and former Business and Economic Development Commission Chair, and Carolyn Hersch, the City's Business Development Coordinator. The pair recognized a community need for small business mentoring and counseling after working closely with area business and property owners.

They decided to team up SCORE Chicago and the Highland Park Public Library. SCORE - Counselors to America's Small Business - is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business in the United States.
SCORE Chicago offers low-cost business workshops and free mentoring services to area businesses at the Highland Park Public Library. Retired executives and business owners donate their time and expertise to provide educational seminars and private counseling services to entrepreneurs and existing business owners.

“We welcome the opportunity to partner with the City and SCORE as well all work together to better serve our business community,” said Jane Conway, Highland Park Public Library’s Executive Director.
