Residential Refuse & Recycling Program
The City has a franchise agreement with Advanced Disposal for the provision of refuse, recycling and yardwaste collection from all single-family residences.
Primary Day (Once a week)
Second Day (Twice a week)
Please refer to Advanced Disposal's map
to locate your street and quadrant.
Garbage, recycling and yard waste are collected on the primary day in each area. Different trucks collect different materials - they may not be collected at the same time. Residents choosing twice-weekly service have only garbage collected on the secondary day. To confirm boundaries, call Advanced Disposal at (847) 272-4145.
Landscape Waste Collection
The landscape waste program runs from April 1st to December 15th of each year. Service is provided on the same day as refuse and recycling collection. Yard waste is to be placed in a 30-gallon biodegradable paper bag, bundled or placed in a metal or plastic container up to 33 gallons in size. Bags, bundles and containers may not exceed 50 pounds and are to be placed at the curb for collection. Containers must be marked as yard waste. Bundles cannot exceed 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter. Branches within each bundle may not exceed 3 inches in diameter
Annual Spring Clean Up - 2015
Advanced Disposal provides one curbside collection annually at no cost for
large items, including white goods, which are not ordinarily collected as part
of the weekly residential refuse service. Construction material to be collected during
the Annual Spring Clean Up Program is limited to one (1) cubic yard, tires placed at the curb will not be collected. Electronics,
including televisions and computers, are also not included in this collection, and
should be brought to the City’s Recycling Center at 1180 Half Day Road.
