Max Bill, an architect, painter, and sculptor, completed his education at the Bauhaus School in Dessau, Germany. In 1944, he began teaching at the School of Arts in Zurich.
His sculptures are concrete art, "which is independent in its characteristic features…an expression of the human spirit, intended for the human spirit, and should have the sharpness, the clarity, and the perfection that must be expected from the human spirit." - Max Bill
The bronze sculpture on a stone column was donated by Perry Snyderman in 2005.
Three additional major sculptures and a sculptural bench were donated by Mr. Snyderman to establish a sculpture park in Moraine Park.
