Claire Lieberman received her MFA from the Pratt Institute and currently teaches at Illinois State University. "Her work explores a range of dichotomies, such as the sublime and beautiful, desire and danger, reality and fantasy, indulgence and guilt."

Equinox was installed in Moraine park in 2005. It is made of granite.

The sculpture was donated in 2005 by Perry Snyderman. Three additional major sculptures and a sculptural bench were donated by Mr. Snyderman to establish a sculpture park in Moraine Park.
