Strutting Down Central was created to "revolve around the pedestrian environment and the movement it generates along Central Avenue in Highland Park. [The Artist] wanted the sculpture to abstract energy, a gesture of motion striding amiably amidst the hustle of traffic." - John Adduci
Adduci resides in Chicago and received his MFA from Arizona State University in 1975. His sculptures may be seen at the Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago; ISC Collection IV at the International Sculpture Center, Washington D.C.; and the SAS Institute in Cary, NC.
The 8 foot by 8 foot piece, installed in 1999, is constructed of bronze and located on Central Avenue and Sheridan Road.
It is the second public art project commissioned by the Public Art Committee as part of the Green Bay Trail Linear Sculpture Park.
