Joseph Sumichrast's sculpture "explores the relationship between the second, third and fourth dimensions. He is interested in the simultaneous viewing of the subject from more than one angle at a time. Sumichrast wants to encourage an audience to look around the corner. Light and the participation of the viewer, gives the artist's work its fourth dimension." www.jozef.com
The 8 foot bronze horse was installed at the Ravinia Train Station in 2005. It is the fifth public art project administered by the Public Art Committee as part of the Green Bay Trail Linear Sculpture Park.
Sumichrast's sculptures have been showcased at the United Nations Building in New York, Cultural George's Pompidou in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Sculpture Biennale in Hokkaido, Japan, and the International Art Exhibition in Cyprus.
