It is unlawful to generate disturbing noise between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM on weekdays or between 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM on weekends and holidays.

Residents Reminded of Summer Leaf Blower Restrictions
The Environmental Commission reminds residents that each year between May 15 and October 1, the use of non-electric leaf blower-type machines is prohibited in Highland Park (such blowers may be used each year until June 15 for gutter cleaning). This ordinance applies to all residents and commercial landscapers working within City limits, with exceptions granted to golf courses. Residents can help attain compliance by reminding their own landscape contractors about the ordinance. Violations can be reported by calling the Highland Park Police Department’s non-emergency number at (847) 432-7730.
