Fire suppression
The Highland Park Fire Department is a full-time department that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week and employs 51 full-time firefighters. The City of Highland Park is 12.5 square miles in size with a population of 31,365.
 
On average, the Fire Department responds to 4,500 alarms a year. The City is split into three districts (32, 33 and 34) and in each district is a fire station. Station #32 responds to alarms with a fire engine and an ambulance, Station #33 responds to alarms with a fire engine and squad and Station #34 responds with a quint (truck with a pump) and an ambulance. 

It is the mission of the Highland Park Fire Department to protect the people, property and environment within our community. The Fire Department continually strives to exceed the expectations of our citizens.
