"A DAY ON, NOT A DAY OFF!"

An annual event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy. Appropriate for all ages, participants complete service projects to benefit the surrounding community.

Hosted by the City of Highland Park, the Human Relations Advisory Group, and the Park District of Highland Park.

THANK YOU to all who attended Highland Park’s 15th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 15, 2024!

The 2024 event featured a keynote address on health equity by Brandon Buchanan, System Assistant Vice President (Endeavor Health), special remarks made by Mayor Rotering and Park District of Highland Park Board President Grossberg, Presentation of the Colors by the Highland Park Police Department Honor Guard, Pledge of Allegiance lead by District 112 students, music by members of the Highland Park High School Brass Quintet, and a performance by Ravinia Festival's Reach Teach Play.

An abundance of items were collected for distribution to eight different organizations:
A Safe Place, YWCA Shelter, PADS Lake County, Working Bikes, Lurie Children's Hospital,
Moraine Township Food Pantry, The Balance Project, SaLT
