The City of Highland
Park preserves local records on births and deaths that occur within
its district. Since birth and death records first became archived
in 1916, thousands have been placed on file, including some delayed
records dating back to the mid-1800s.
Individuals occasionally may need certified copies of birth or
death certificates for such diverse purposes as applying for passports,
fulfilling school entrance requirements, filing license applications,
or seeking insurance or government benefits. These records are
available only to the following:
- Birth Certificates: Individual (18 and over), parent or legal
guardian ONLY
