Collection Event Scheduled in Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, IL-On Wednesday, January 26th and Friday,
January 28th the City of Highland Park will be hosting a drop off
center where residents may recycle outdated, broken, or unwanted
household electronics. The drop off center hours are scheduled
from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the City's Public Services building
located at 1150 Half Day Road. This event is being done in conjunction
with the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County's (SWALCO) one-day event
on Saturday, January 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lake
County Public Works, 650 W. Winchester Road in Libertyville. During
this event residents may drop off any of the following items:
Computer Equipment: personal computers (CPUs), monitors, keyboards,
any type of mouse, cords/cables, modems, laptops, main frames,
printers, hard drives, other disk drives, PDA organizers, hand-held
computer games, video games, joy sticks.
Home Electronics & Appliances: televisions, VCRs, laser disc
players, cameras, camcorders, radios, speakers, portable CD players,
blenders, mixing machines, waffle irons, coffee makers, toasters,
fans, vacuums, hair dryers, sewing machines, microwave ovens, power
tools.
Home Office Equipment: typewriters, word processors, copy machines,
fax machines, adding machines, postage machines, scanners, calculators,
paper shredders, telephones, answering machines, cellular phones,
pagers, two-way radios.
Items that will NOT be accepted include fluorescent lamps, electric
fixtures, software disks, audio or video tapes, compact disks,
humidifiers/dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and large appliances
(stoves, refrigerators, freezers).
This event is for residents only, no commercial, governmental,
or institutional materials will be accepted. Residents dropping
off material will be required to provide proof of residency. For
