Small Business Improvement Program

Are you the owner of a small business or commercial property in Highland Park?
Could the commercial building you own or
work in benefit from a facade cleaning,
new signage, or new awnings?

If you answered yes to these questions you may qualify for the City’s Small Business Improvement Program (SBIP).

Program Description

The SBIP is a program offered by the City to help independent merchants and commercial property owners improve the functionality and competitiveness of their places of business. The program provides financial assistance in the form of a rebate and a matching low interest loan to qualified applicants.

The City of Highland Park recognizes the importance of independent merchants to the City's image and tax base. The goal of the Small Business Improvement Program (SBIP) is to provide both assistance and incentive to property owners and local businesses to improve the look and functionality of their property and place of business. The SBIP is available for use by small business operators and commercial property owners citywide.

For a complete program description and an application please contact the City's Economic Development Assistant at (847) 926-1027, via e-mail at chersch@cityhpil.com, or download the application. Applications will be considered on a first-come first-serve basis.
