Dear Parents,
The staff at Youth Services welcomes your child as a new member
of The Firehouse. You will need to complete a Participant
Liability Waiver and Hold Harmless Agreement. Please return
the completed form as soon as possible because it is a requirement
that all participants in any of our program areas have a form on
file.
I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that your
child is well supervised at The Firehouse by a team of professional
staff. However, please keep in mind that The Firehouse is an "open
campus" and members may leave the premises any time. "Closed
campus" is an option you may select for your child, which
means they must remain in the building until a parent or guardian
picks them up. You may wish to start out this way initially until
you become more comfortable with an open situation. Please remember
that we are open on days off of school. Check our newsletter for
any field trips or special programs that may be going on those
days as well.
In addition to the Activity Center, we always offer a full range
of other programs including transportation from school to The Firehouse,
tutoring, field trips, dances, H.I.R.E. job referral program and
more! For parents, we also offer parent support groups and parenting
classes. Please watch for the promotion of our programs in the
City of Highland Park's monthly newsletter, "The Highlander" and
the Youth Services newsletter, "The Firehouse News".
If you ever have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please
feel free to call me. In the meantime, we look forward to working
with your child, and hope that this will be the beginning of a
long-lasting relationship.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Landsman
