Funds in this Division
are used to provide an effective communications program which includes
the coordination and production of City publications, such as The
Highlander (the City's monthly residential newsletter), and The
Messenger (the City's monthly employee newsletter), and other informational
brochures and publications.
The Communications Division is also responsible for coordinating
media relations, and video production, including the departmental
features and live broadcasts of City Council meetings. Special
events, including the downtown summer concerts and the City's
Annual 4th of July Concert and fireworks display, are also coordinated
by this division. The Communications Division also provides support in matters such as cable franchise renewal, franchise
enforcement, and public access programming.
